```bash curl theme={"theme":{"light":"min-light","dark":"min-dark"}}
curl -X DELETE https://api.poixe.com/v1/recoveries/2026012914435849129949 \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $POIXE_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json"
```

```json response theme={"theme":{"light":"min-light","dark":"min-dark"}}
{
  "request_id": "2026012914435849129949",
  "deleted": true,
  "message": "Recovery deleted successfully.",
  "reason": "OK"
}
```

DELETE
`https://api.poixe.com/v1/recoveries/{request_id}`

Deletes the stored record with the specified `request_id`.

If you are just unsure whether a response has been generated, we recommend using [**Get details**](https://docs.poixe.com/en/api-reference/extension-api/recoveries/get.md) to confirm the content before deleting.

## Authentication and request headers

Every API request must include your API key in the HTTP headers.

**Authorization** `string` *required*

Bearer token. The format is `Bearer YOUR_API_KEY`.

**Content-Type** `string` *required*

Must be set to `application/json`.

## Path parameters

**request\_id** `string` *required*

The request ID of the stored record (from [**List**](https://docs.poixe.com/en/api-reference/extension-api/recoveries/list.md) / [**lookup**](https://docs.poixe.com/en/api-reference/extension-api/recoveries/lookup.md)).

## Response structure

**request\_id** `string`

Request ID, the unique identifier used internally by the Poixe AI system.

**deleted** `boolean`

Whether the deletion succeeded.

**message** `string`

Result description.

**reason** `string`

Result reason (such as `OK` / `RECOVERY_NOT_FOUND`).

If the record does not exist (for example, it has expired, been cleaned up, or already been deleted), the response usually returns `deleted=false` along with a reason related to `RECOVERY_NOT_FOUND`.
